Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I wish to draw the urgent attention of the concerned authorities toward the frequent and unannounced load shedding in our locality, particularly during the evening hours.
For the past several weeks, our area has been plagued by erratic power supply. The power cuts usually begin as the sun sets, which is the most critical time for the residents. This situation has created significant hurdles for various groups in our community:
Students' Education: Since this is the primary time for students to study and complete their assignments, these frequent blackouts are severely hampering their academic progress and exam preparations.
Safety Concerns: The lack of street lighting during these hours has made the roads unsafe for pedestrians, especially for the elderly and women, increasing the risk of accidents and petty crimes.
Daily Household Activities: Residents are finding it increasingly difficult to manage basic evening chores, and the constant voltage fluctuations are posing a serious threat to expensive electronic appliances.
It is disheartening that despite numerous verbal complaints to the local APDCL sub-station, the situation remains unchanged. We are often told that the outages are due to "technical maintenance," yet the frequency suggests a lack of proper management or infrastructure.
I, therefore, request the higher authorities to intervene and ensure a stable power supply in our locality. If load shedding is unavoidable, we request a pre-published schedule so that we can plan our activities accordingly.
