Subject: Urgent attention required regarding the dilapidated condition of roads in our locality.

Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I wish to draw the immediate attention of the concerned authorities, particularly the Public Works Department (PWD), to the deplorable condition of the roads in our locality.

For the past several months, the main roads in our area have turned into a series of dangerous craters and potholes. The situation has worsened significantly after the recent monsoon, which washed away the remaining top layer of the asphalt. Traveling on these roads has become a nightmare for residents, especially during peak hours.

The current state of the roads has led to several critical issues:

    Frequent Accidents: Two-wheelers and cyclists are constantly falling due to deep potholes, leading to frequent minor and major injuries.

    Vehicle Damage: The uneven and broken surfaces are causing severe wear and tear to vehicles, leading to high maintenance costs for the common man.

    Emergency Delays: In case of medical emergencies, ambulances find it extremely difficult to navigate through the broken patches, losing precious time.

    Dust and Health Issues: During dry days, the loose gravel and dust from the broken roads lead to respiratory problems for the elderly and children in our neighborhood.

Despite multiple verbal and written requests submitted to the local municipal office, no concrete action has been taken so far. We are often met with the excuse of a lack of funds or pending tenders, while the residents continue to suffer daily.

I, therefore, request the authorities to take up the repair and macadamization of these roads on a priority basis. A swift response would go a long way in ensuring the safety and well-being of the citizens.
